This printer far and away improves on its predecessor. I am puzzled by the reviewers that say the printer is slow. It is substantially faster than the MX 882.

I am using a wireless mode only and I am very impressed with the speed that it converts my print jobs. Furthermore it produces blacker blacks in duplex mode.

I use my printer almost exclusively in duplex. I really have to question the negative reviews as trolling.

This is my honest review and if I find that the performance suffers or that the printer is unreliable I will absolutely knock it. But at this point I have to give kudos to Canon. Cannon tech service said it was the same as the 892, just upgraded but it is not. The envelope tray is also the paper tray so you have to pull the tray, change the paper with envelopes, just to print a letter and envelope.

Can't tell you how many invoices and letters have been printed on envelopes. It is noisy, takes a long time to cycle through whatever it is doing.

I suppose it would be okay for those who do not know how to use a computer, but there are far too many companies out there that keep trying to organize your computer files for you. After having the MX700 for years, there is no comparison with the craftsmanship. My MX700 was a work horse for many, many years and I never had a problem with it. This MX922 looks and feels like it might break when you load paper in it. Very disappointing. Had to understandably download drivers to the old desktop to complete the install but the printer still will not print from the older desktop.

It is USB connected. So now to my new laptop. I installed the software (twice) and it stalls at 85% completion. It will print from any document or window but I cannot access any menu items for the printer. I called the tech support number but the 'tech' does not know how to fix the problem. Very disappointing. As consumers, we would not mind paying a little more for something as long as it works.

Photos print exactly like how it appears digitally on screen. The only downfall of this printer is that it will say it is low on ink when the cartridges are half full. Then it will say it is out of ink way before it actually runs out. This printer doesn't actually use excessive amounts of ink, but the programmed warnings are inaccurate.

I just keep using the cartridges until a certain color doesn't show up anymore, and then I replace it. It does get annoying having to press 'OK' on the pop up telling me i'm out of ink every single time I need to print something. I would rather have my HP back. In 9 months I have replace the color cartridges three times and the Black cartridges 4 times now. If I were printing color brochures and Power Point presentations I could understand burning through so much color, but since I print an average of 10 single page B&W documents a month the burning through of the color cartridges is outrageous and unexplainable. That and the fact that the print does not print anywhere close the the advertised PPM even when set to the lowest dpi setting.

If you want this product for Printing Photos or Fax or Scanning Its Great. They took away the rear tray that made it really easy to print envelopes. They make you use the bottom try now and that means if you want to print 1 envelope you have to pull out all the paper in the bottom tray and input the 1 envelope print it and then go back to the printer and put all the paper back. This is a BIG PAIN. Also when printing envelopes that are thick or small or have large seals on the back, It seems to get stuck or jam or mess up.

I installed the printer on my wireless network at home so that all my computers could access the printer. The setup while not easy wasn't too bad, it certainly was manageable without any extensive knowledge of computers. As for access I have had one on two issues which isn't awful since I have so many devices using it on a regular basis. Quality is excellent I use this printer for documents and photos and the output is well above the minimum acceptable quality. I replace another brand printer with this and I would do it again.
