Our love story begins in OCNJ during the summer of 2016. We had both decided to attend the Ocean City Beach Project that summer to help grow in our faith. Neither of us thought we would leave with the person we would spend the rest of our lives with. When we first met, we had drastically different views on marriage, I, Katie, was ready to be married with kids while Ryan did not plan on being married or in a relationship for years. Both of our outlooks changed and have morphed into one view on marriage since that first meeting. Throughout the project, we would go for walks together, go on adventures together, and even just sit and talk. The one night, we talked so long that we were awake when the sun came up.
This was when we knew our friendship could turn into a long lasting relationship. Even though we both knew we had feelings for each other, we still waited to see what God had in store for us. It was not until 1 week before we left on August 3 that Ryan asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. This was the start of the rest of our lives together. The night Ryan decided to propose, he took me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We both had a wonderful meal with great conversation.

After dinner, Ryan took me to Codorus State Park where he walked me down to the water to 'see the waves crashing' because it was a windy and slightly stormy day. After walking down to the water, he gave me a hug and we watched the water. Then, he stepped in front of me, hugged me again and said 'I Love You.' This is when he got down on one knee and said 'Will you marry me!'

And of course I said 'Yes!'
