RouteBuddy has released its offline mapping iPhone application,. The software uses the iPhone's GPS and compass to display the user's current location and which direction they are moving. Users can also access maps without data charges and without any phone reception. Following trips, users can export newly discovered routes to both Mac and PC platforms for use with the RouteBuddy desktop application or Google Earth.

Numerous maps can be purchased from the RouteBuddy Store, with various sizes including 1:24K scale based on USGS digital mapping. The application also provides content for the entire UK with Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale maps. RouteBuddy Atlas requires iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later and can be downloaded from the App Store for free.
